Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review

I’ve wanted to review the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate for quite some time now, mainly because it’s a product that does what it says and it does it well. To summarise, this is a great product for those of us with skin that needs revitalising and hydrating, especially at night. If you have skin prone to dryness, or if you’re looking for a product to add to your routine that will increase the suppleness of your skin, then I can’t recommend this product highly enough.

I purchased this product for £38 at Space NK, alongside some other Kiehl’s products. However, this was definitely the star purchase. Whilst the price tag is quite high, especially if you’re looking at it from the perspective of a student like myself, I’ve found that a little really does go along way with this product. I’ve been using this on a daily basis for the past few months and I’ve not even noticed the bottle going down. So, whilst it isn’t totally inexpensive, you will be getting a lot of (good) product for your money. The dropper that comes with the oil is also really handy: having the dropper be opened by pushing the top means you can be way more accurate with your drops, and it means you aren’t going to be wasting any oil. This is a lot better than the dropper provided with the Pixi Rose Oil Blend that I use as part of my morning skincare routine.

The oil itself is very fast absorbing, allowing you to jump straight into bed without feeling greasy and wet. At first, this did actually worry me, as I thought that if it was absorbing so quickly it probably wouldn’t be concentrated enough for my skin. I was totally incorrect about this, however, and soon found out that 2-3 drops are more than enough to fully moisturise and replenish the skin. Due to the lightness of the product, you could definitely layer a moisturiser on top of it, although I really didn’t feel the need to do this, even during the cold winter months. In terms of scent, there’s a subtle hint of lavender which adds to the experience of using the oil: it’s a relaxing process, massaging the oil into your skin with the scent of lavender wafting around. The squalene in the formula helps to replenish the skins natural moisture, whilst still providing that much-needed boost. This, coupled with the with essential oils and omega-6 fatty acids, make one great product that works wonders for all skin types, but will definitely clear up any dry and uncomfortable skin.

I’ve found that upon waking my skin is refreshed and feels elastic and well moisturised. Before using this product, I often struggled with waking up to find my skin dry and sore. This has been a recurring problem throughout my life, but Kiehl’s seems to have gotten rid of this issue! I no longer wake up with any discomfort coming from my dry skin. Whilst the price of £38 might be too steep for a lot of people, it is definitely a good investment, as it not only lasts a long time but is highly effective at tackling dry skin, and really does wonders for replenishing and revitalising your skin.
